The UAE's adventure
trailer gap is real.

AED 14,000–30,000. No new local product. The closest competitor sold out at AED 31,880 and hasn't restocked. The demand exists. The supply doesn't. BYOT fills it.

Where the UAE trailer
market stands today.

Every UAE resident with a Land Cruiser, Prado, or Patrol already owns the tow vehicle. The product that goes behind it — at a price that makes sense for a family — does not exist.

< AED 5,000 Basic steel utility. Bike, jet ski, Polaris. No shelter, no camping capability. Commodity.
AED 5,000–13,500 Chinese import, pre-order only. e-Scooter UAE Hub folding camper. Quality unknown, unverified finish.
AED 14,000–30,000 THE GAP. No new local build available. OBK World entered at AED 31,880 — sold out, not restocked. This is the BYOT target zone.
AED 31,880–40,000 OBK World Trailblazer (sold out) · TransTech Camper Moo AED 40k. Top of the accessible range.
AED 40,000–80,000 Icon Auto, Master Trailer DRA. UAE-built, premium overlander. Serious off-roaders. Different customer.
AED 80,000–155,000+ TransTech 2A Max, Rock & Sand Campers. Expedition-grade. Out of range for family camping.

OBK World sold out is not a footnote. A UAE-built camping trailer at AED 31,880 found buyers fast enough to clear stock. BYOT at AED 15,000–25,000 undercuts that by AED 7–17k with a lighter aluminium body. The market is there. The product isn't.

The demand is global.
The gap is local.

The US RV market is the clearest proxy. Towable trailers dominate because they're cheaper to own, don't require a dedicated vehicle, and the tow vehicle doubles as everyday transport. That's the exact BYOT proposition.

11.2M

US households that own an RV — up 62% over 20 years. Travel trailers are 58% of that market.

49

Median RV owner age — down from 53 in 2021. The 35–54 family segment is the growth driver. "Dubai Dad" to the letter.

10%+

Annual glamping market growth. Family travel is 50% of it. BYOT is mobile glamping — not camping.

850+

Participants in a single Dubai Offroaders Liwa convoy. The UAE 4x4 community is organised, active, and buying.

The weekend drive case

From Dubai: Liwa in 3.5 hours. Wahiba Sands in 3.5 hours. Jebel Shams in 3.5 hours. Hatta in 90 minutes. All on one tank of fuel, no flights, no hotel. The tow vehicle is already in the driveway. BYOT is the missing piece.

A mobile base camp for
families who own 4x4s.

BYOT is not a tent. Not a caravan. It's a deployable home — a compact aluminium adventure trailer built in the UAE, priced for the family that wants proper comfort on a Liwa weekend without booking a resort at AED 1,200 a night.

01

Aluminium body. UAE-built.

25mm aluminium box section body — lighter than OBK World's 2.5mm galvanised steel. Fabricated by UAE custom workshops. Fully road-legal, RTA-registerable.

02

Compact kitchen. Proper bed. Running water.

A pull-out hob, prep surface, and 60L water tank. Inside sleeping for the kids or a proper queen on the fold-out. This is what turns "wife tolerates camping" into "wife plans the next trip."

03

Solar-ready from the start.

Solar panel mount, 12V system, USB charging, LED lighting. Two nights in the Empty Quarter without engine. The wiring goes in at build — retrofitting is how money disappears.

04

Off-road capable. Not off-road-only.

Independent torsion axle, 16" all-terrain tyres, articulating hitch. Handles Wadi Shawka on Friday, sits on your driveway through the week. Not a specialist item — a versatile family tool.

05

Target price: AED 15,000–25,000 new.

Steel base chassis at AED 1,000–1,500 from Ras Al Khaimah. Aluminium body, axle, wheels, fit-out: AED 4,000–8,000 total cost of materials. Margin is real. The gap between cost and what OBK World proved buyers will pay is where BYOT lives.

We don't camp.
We glamp. We just take it with us.

Traditional camping BYOT — glamp not camp
Tent on the ground Sleeping inside the unit or proper tent extension
Coleman stove on dirt Compact kitchen — hob, prep surface, storage
Dry wipes and grim Solar-heated shower, 60L water tank
Chaotic kit in the boot Locked, organised storage for boards, bikes, kit
Sand in the sleeping bag Off-ground, sealed, ventilated space
Resort glamping: AED 800–2,500 per night BYOT: AED 15,000–25,000 one time. Paid off in 10 trips.

"The 4x4 is in the driveway. The weekend is free. The only thing missing is the trailer that makes it a proper trip."

Built in the UAE.
Not imported. Not compromised.

The UAE already has the fabrication capability. TransTech FZ-LLC in Sharjah has been doing custom aluminium bodies for 22 years — 826 projects, 14 countries. They already make a camper trailer (Camper Moo, AED 40,000). BYOT's body spec is simpler and targets a lower price point.

Other candidates: Harman Star (DIP-1 Dubai, 1,000+ custom trailers since 2012), Al-Atef Welding (Fujairah, custom fab). The workshop capability exists. It hasn't been pointed at the family adventure segment at an accessible price — until now.

This is early stage.
That's the point.

BYOT is a product concept in active development. The research is done. The gap is proven. The fabrication partners are identified. What comes next is prototype, pilot, and community.

If you're in the UAE 4x4/adventure space — as a buyer, fabricator, investor, or distributor — this is the conversation to have early.
